Lots of space and two atrium courtyards were offered by the 50’s penthouse above the roofs of Frankfurt. The layout was reorganized. An atrium with a bamboo garden and hot tub, one with a koi pond and a six-meter-long dining-and kitchen area connect with the existing structure into a cosmopolitan, expansive atmosphere. The sand-colored brick walls contrast with anthracite and light gray. Just as the kitchen, the sleeping area seems more of a fluid space sculpture than a conventional use of space. The various room areas have been zoned by exclusively purist furniture with invisible sliding doors, integrated lighting and hidden technology. Light-filled spaces intersperse with introspective retreat areas. Reduction in the design builds the backdrop for personal favorites.

Completely new 30th level house, in the condominium «Novopecherskie Lipki», has a few Penthouses about 150m2-250m2 (1,614ft2-2,691ft2) each. One of them became an investment property for my client. Young man who used to live in Spain and lives partly in Latvia, has got an idea to create this space as a perfect area for himself and for party time with his few friends.
Detached concrete ceiling and the glass wall – windows, were from the very beginning of the Project brief.
Another key aspect of the brief was to build an interior without client control, as he had not much time. The client asked me to organize an open space area with natural materials and a “Clever House” system, which can control the temperature, security system, lighting and television. Natural materials with oak/elm-tree structure were used on the walls and kitchen island. Minacciolo / Natural Skin Kitchen was agreed with the first steps of the Project.
For the island top we used sheet metal matching the colour to the concrete ceiling and framework columns. The interior was developed with huge windows, which provided amazing views of the City, Dnieper River and Sky.
The enormous sheet slide glass and wooden doors in the bedroom were maneuvered through an opening to connect bedroom the to the guest-room. The drapery “Designers Guild” with a “Black Out” function, along the sliding glass door, shuts sun light from outside is controlled by the “Clever House” system program on IPad. A monolithic white rectangle in the middle of the guestroom separating the living room and the wardrobe area contains the open wooden Fireplace “Waco and Co” and a hidden television, while part of the wardrobe utilities are concealed inside this long shape on the opposite site of the television area.
The bathroom area is separated from bedroom by a glass sliding door that allows the view from the bedroom and cabinet to the garden on the bathroom wall. Lighting and watering are switched on automatically from the laundry.
A white metal structure in the front of the wall plants, elongate the bathroom area and consist of a table with a black long ceramic sink and step to the wooden bath “Agape”

Penthouse MK is an interior design project where our principal design premise was to enhance the sense of spaciousness. The building that is home to the penthouse boasts a transparent façade that inspired to take best advantage of the spectacular views over western Mexico City, and the sunsets.
To achieve this we resorted to a very clean, lightweight geometry, using rectangular prisms to delimit the spaces without obstructing the visual communication between them. These architectural elements that distribute the spaces also serve other specific functions depending on their location, and make sense of how the space is used.
The public and private areas are circumscribed by their two levels. The lower floor contains the kitchen, dining room, lobby, reception, and lounge. The latter is located in a double-height space that during the day is naturally illuminated by a full-height right-angled window that frames the whole space, filling it with light. The upper floor contains three bedrooms and a TV room.
The sculptural staircase that links the two floors “levitates” over a water pool, which is complemented by a wet wall that produces a gentle sound, and transmits a fresh energy.
The selection of materials was defined by the goal of achieving a clean, uniform outcome, using wood with rich oak tones, ivory-white stone, and black ironwork.
At night, the city lights fill the space with life and complement the lighting design, which defines the character of the penthouse.

New-build penthouse apartment by Berkeley Homes built on top of historic Edwardian building on the doorstep of London’s thriving financial district. Thomas Griem, director of TG-Studio, was commissioned by Berkley Homes to design the complete interior for a new-build penthouse in Aldgate, on the doorstep of London’s thriving financial district. “Our aim was to create a warm, comfortable home whilst still being luxurious, contemporary and organic” says Griem. “As the penthouse is a new-build on top of a refurbished Edwardian building, the approach to the interior was of particular significance to me. I knew it had to be treated differently in order not to undermine the character of the older parts of the building.” Thomas’s idea for the interior design was based on the concept of photography inspired by the views over the city. He has used the architecture of the windows to frame these vistas with breathtaking effect. This is particularly so in the sitting room where a 12 meter wide window, leads onto an elegantly furnished balcony providing a panoramic view over rooftops. Says Griem “Many pieces I chose are bespoke British made but there are additional items I’ve sourced from Italy and Spain. I am particularly excited about the bathtub in the master ensuite. It’s a large, white freestanding tub that sits in front of a magnificent window so that when you sit in it, you’re essentially a part of the cityscape. It weighs 300 kilograms and it took six men to carry it up seven floors!Another unique feature is the use of wood flooring in the living room – I’ve extended it to run up onto the wall opposite the sliding door to the balcony, which opens the space and adds texture, spontaneity and colour.

ODA was selected to create the interior for one of the largest private apartment residences in the United States. Located 90 stories above Manhattan overlooking the East River, the luxury condominium boasts 360° views within 18,000 square feet of open floor area.
With a perimeter of 16′ foot floor- to-ceiling windows, the essence of the apartment is the sculpture garden at its entrance. The garden features a spectacular 30′ water wall and reflecting pool overlooking the famed United Nations headquarters along the East River. This superlative dwelling also features a 75′ expanse of living and dining area along with a Italian kitchen, library, game room, day spa, home theater and professional grade listening room with recording studio. Seemingly without limitation, every feature from the façade to the interior is meticulously planned and detailed with a modern and minimalist approach using only the most pristine of materials creating a unique and exceptional setting to rival.
